On this page I'll describe my star's life and career: the successes and failures, the joys and sorrows. Ashley Tyler Judd was born on April 19, 1968 in Los Angeles, California. Although she was born in California, Ashley spent a great deal of her childhood in rural Kentucky. Ashley's family has always been an important part of her life. Her mother, Naomi, and her sister, Wynonna, are two of the biggest names in country music and have supported Ashley's goal of an acting career from the very beginning.
Ashley studied French at the University of Kentucky, where she graduated with honors in 1990. After college Ashley quickly made herself known in Hollywood with her trademark combination of beauty and confidence. Her first audition resulted in a role in the Christian Slater film, Kuffs and although the role was small she established herself as talented actress. Shortly after landing the role on Kuffs, Ashley won a recurring role on the Sci-Fi hit series, Star Trek: The Next Generation. As Ensign Robin Lefler, Ashley became a star all her own in the vast Star Trek universe. She soon followed with another recurring appearance on the drama series, Sisters.
Ashley soon returned to movies in Ruby in Paradise, a wonderful film that displayed her wide ranging acting abilities and won her the Independant Spirit Award.
Since Ruby in Paradise, Ashley has performed well in a variety of roles from the crack-addicted daughter in Smoke to the strong-willed intern in Kiss the Girls. In the HBO movie Norma Jean and Marilyn, Ashley portrayed the legendary Marilyn Monroe and overcame her dislike of onscreen nudity. Her roles since have capitalized on her incredible beauty without hindering her ability to tackle new and exciting parts. Her supporting roles in Heat and A Time to Kill have demonstrated her screen presence with such Hollywood heavyweights as Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Val Kilmer, Samuel L. Jackson, Sandra Bullock, Jon Voight, Kevin Spacey and Matthew McConaughey. Ashley has been equally impressive in starring roles opposite Luke Perry (Normal Life ), Morgan Freeman (Kiss the Girls) and Vince Vaughn (The Locusts).
Ashley , although related to famous and influential celebrities, has established herself as a phenomenon all her own. Her straight forward nature and on screen talent have earned her many awards and even more fans. With a host of projects in the works, we can look forward to her entertaining us all for years to come.
