Ashley's Style

Ashley Judd

Popular movie star Ashley Judd shows off her creative dressy hairstyle with this short Sculptured Look.

This style works best if hair has a natural wave or a loose curl. Start with a layered chin length bob with tapered edge for lift to accent and soften facial features. A fun alternative look for dressy events.

To Get This Look - This style requires a few extra styling steps to achieve the desired effects. If hair is wavy or curly, begin by combing a dab of Straight n Narrow Styling Balm through damp hair, section and blow dry to smooth surface and relax curl. When dry, work a puff of Foaming Pomade through hair, part and section using triangular partings. Comb smooth and twist each section into a loose pen curl shape and secure with decorative clip at base. Mist with Special Effects Styling Spray for shine and hold.

For Straight Hair, comb a puff of Gel Mousse through damp hair, blow dry and curl with large barrel styling iron. When dry, work a puff of Foaming Pomade through hair, part and section using triangular partings. Comb each section smooth and twist each section into a loose pen curl shape and secure end to base with decorative clip. Mist with Special Effects Styling Spray for shine and hold.

To Re-Style between shampoo's, brush and dampen with Shape Up Styling Refresher, blow dry, set or curl.

At 'Someone like you' premiere

Here Ashley's short layered look is tapered close around the perimeter, with beveled hair in back that flicks up effortlessly. To style, work in a quarter-size dollop of molding mudd, then blow hair out with a vent brush. Finish by tousling strands with your fingers to promote lift and fullness, and anchor bangs and sides back with small clips or Bobby pins.

Boasting Great Range

Judd has enviable Veronica Lake-like locks: wavy and lushit's at once girlish and quite adult.
Worn long, her hair easily adapts to soft, casual curls or more elaborate off-the-face crimping.
Six inches had been cut (you can see the do in her latest role, Someone Like You) giving her a current look that's piecey and a tad undonea great style for showing off her elegant neck and jawline. In a white strapless gown with hair smoothed back, Judd's the picture of confident perfectionism.

Mixing and Matching

"I have my own ideas about what I think is chic," Judd has told an interviewer.
Well, based on her casually-dressy style, we think we've figured out her savvy strategy: go for simple shapes in dressed-up fabrics.
When a bustier glitters, it dresses up simple pants. A pant suit is supremely chic in black velvet (a bare neckline helps), and a classic topper coat is clearly meant for evening when in silver shantung.
Judd's clearly mad for bare heels, and why not? They lend a sexy edge to any outfit. And check out her Armani duo of sexy top and unmatching beaded chiffon pants.
Judd could be a poster girl for wearing, not being worn by, your clothes.
